Atelier Wen is an independent luxury watch brand dedicated to showcasing the finest aspects of Chinese culture, craftsmanship, and watchmaking through a contemporary lens. Founded in 2018, the brand has gained international recognition for challenging traditional perceptions of Chinese watchmaking by collaborating with master artisans, designers, and manufacturers to create exceptional timepieces. The name combines the French word Atelier (workshop) with the Chinese character Wén (文), meaning culture, reflecting the brand's unique Franco-Chinese identity. Atelier Wen is renowned for its handcrafted guilloché dials, grand feu enamel work, and meticulous attention to detail, blending traditional Chinese artistry with modern horological standards. Collections such as the Perception, Ancestra, and Porcelain Odyssey have established Atelier Wen as one of the most respected names in contemporary independent watchmaking.

Founders – Robin Tallendier & Wilfried Buiron

Atelier Wen was founded by Robin Tallendier and Wilfried Buiron, two French friends united by a passion for watches, Chinese culture, and entrepreneurship. The pair met while studying in Beijing and became inspired by the depth of Chinese craftsmanship and the lack of international recognition it received. Determined to change perceptions, they established Atelier Wen to showcase China's finest artisanal traditions through high-quality watchmaking. Robin brought extensive horological knowledge, having worked with the French Chamber of Watchmaking in Shanghai and served as an advisor to the China Horologe Association, while Wilfried contributed entrepreneurial expertise and deep experience in Chinese business and manufacturing. Together, they created a brand that bridges Eastern craftsmanship and Western design sensibilities.

Current CEO – Wilfried Buiron

Wilfried Buiron serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Atelier Wen and plays a central role in the company's strategic development, manufacturing coordination, and global expansion. Born in Hong Kong and educated at both Peking University and Tsinghua University, he brings extensive experience in entrepreneurship and international business. Under his leadership, Atelier Wen has evolved from a successful crowdfunding project into one of the most respected independent brands promoting Chinese haute horlogerie. Working closely with co-founder Robin Tallendier, Buiron continues to advance the brand's mission of elevating Chinese craftsmanship on the global watchmaking stage while maintaining uncompromising standards of quality and innovation.
